posAbilities is proud of its involvement in local arts and cultural activities. We engage in collaborative projects with other social service providers, community partners and sponsors, to create opportunities for:

  • Individuals who wish to express their artistic talent;
  • Those who wish to develop performance or production related skills;
  • The public to learn about disability issues through a new lens.

Each year, we host theatre productions through our Stage Door Theatre Troupe and also host the annual INCLUSION Art Show for BC artists with diverse abilities. The Alternative Creations Studio recognizes that every person has the ability to create beautiful artwork! We are also developing capacity in digital storytelling, which is another media through which persons served can share their stories.

Structured Day Support Programs

We offer a wide range of social, recreational and learning opportunities. Participants are encouraged to pursue their interests and try out different program options. In addition to the variety that this approach offers, the person served has the opportunity to meet new people and expand his or her social circle.

Our programs are based on the following educational modules:

  • Rights and Responsibilities
  • Developing and Building Healthy Relationships
  • Personal Safety
  • Community Kitchen/Cooking
  • Music/Karaoke CafĂ©
  • Crafts

  • Multicultural Celebrations
  • Volunteering
  • Exercise Classes and Outdoor Sports

  • Day Trips

The majority of our structured day support and life skills programs are offered in Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond and Maple Ridge. Ask us about programs and services in your community.
