Hi everyone ,
My name is Bianca Rosary, and I’m the new Communications & Event Planning Intern, joining the Community Engagement department. I’m a 4th-year student majoring in Cognitive Science at Simon Fraser University. I have nearly ten years’ worth of experience with Canva, and have ample experience in event planning as well as on-set assistance (from coordination, scheduling, and even using a handsaw to trim wooden boards for hours, or shaping craft wire to form sculptures). Previously, I worked for Environment Canada in North Vancouver for my co-op, and I have also worked as a Research Assistant for two different professors in SFU, making good use of my writing skills.
During the evenings, I work as a Resident Advisor in SFU, where part of my responsibilities include writing event / program proposals, hosting them, making posters, door slips and all kinds of promotional material. In my spare time, I love watching animal documentaries, researching niche topics, and counselling my friends (I’m the designated therapist friend).
Fun facts about me: 1). I have really good episodic memory, 2). I’m originally from Indonesia, 3). I’ve had 5 pets throughout my life (including a checkered chicken named Penny)
