Paint Night with Detty!
March 25, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Guided by the lovely artist Detty, we’ll be creating a watercolour painting of a sunset. You can follow along with their vision or let your imagination flow with customizations of shapes, colours, materials. We encourage you to get creative with your colours, and create something meaningful to you!
What to bring:
Art supplies (Watercolours, Watercolor Paper, Washi Tape, Paintbrush, Paper towel/cloth, Marker or Pens) (Optional Supplies: White Pen/Paint, Stickers).
Basic versions of these can be found online, at your local dollar store or grocery shop like Superstore or Walmart. Give us a shout at hello@curiko.ca if you need help brainstorming where to get these. We don’t want money to be a barrier for anyone who would like to join the event, so we set aside a limited amount of $5 and $10 dollar gift cards for anyone in need of assistance buying paint supplies. Funds are first-come and aren’t guaranteed.
If you are based in the USA, please reach out to beck@basicallywonderful.online to request assistance; If you are based in Canada, please reach out to hello@curiko.ca to request assistance.
About the artist
Detty (they/them) is for sure an alien, but can also be described as a black, non-binary & mentally ill artist, poet, mental health advocate, and peer supporter based in South Florida. They are the creator of Expressive Arts, a peer-led digital gathering that connects artists with both themselves and each other. In their own practice, Detty creates art centering on liberation, self-expression, and unmasking as an autistic HSP.

We want to celebrate folks at the intersection of being disabled and LGBTQIA+, so this space will be an intentionally welcoming space for those communities. Allies are welcome in the space to create alongside us.
