posAbilities, Kinsight and the Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion are proud to present the Canadian Premiere of Dafne at VIFF.
After her mother dies, 35-year-old Dafne (Carolina Raspanti, magnetic), a woman with Down syndrome, finds traditional roles reversed when she sees that her depressed dad (Antonio Piovanelli) needs her support more than she needs his. Making great use of some gorgeous Tuscan locations, director Federico Bondi creates a tale of father-daughter love that is subtle, touching, and hopeful. “Sweet and understated… anchored by the eternally forward-looking attitude of Carolina Raspanti.” – Variety
