HOW TO APPLY
posAbilities provides a variety of government-funded services for people with developmental disabilities. Finding the right services and getting started can be quite a journey. Check out our programs and services pages or contact us for more information.
There are three paths to choose from:
- Government Funded – Children (ages 0-18)
- Government Funded – Adults (ages 19+)
- Fee-for-Service – All ages
There are no additional charges to individuals or families who are eligible for government-funded services offered by posAbilities.

Government funded – children (ages 0-18)
posAbilities offers government-funded services for children with autism or other developmental disabilities.
To get started, you’ll need a referral for Behaviour Consultation from a Social Worker with Children and Family Development (CYSN). You can also ask for other services, like Autism Unit Funding, At Home services, or respite care.
If you don’t have a Social Worker, you can find one using this online tool or by calling Enquiry BC for help:
Vancouver: 604-660-2421
Victoria: 250-387-6121
Elsewhere in BC: 1-800-663-7867
Email: enquiryBC@gov.bc.ca
If your child already has autism funding, we can help you use it for posAbilities services.

Government funded – adults (ages 19+)
Adults with developmental disabilities, Autism, and/or Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders can get funding through Community Living BC (CLBC). CLBC helps families plan and organize services based on each person’s needs. The services we offer include Behaviour Consultation, Community Inclusion, Employment, Explore, and Home Living.
To get started, a referral from CLBC is needed. CLBC uses a request for services list and considers each person’s needs, urgency, and eligibility when deciding who receives support. Start by contacting a CLBC Intake Facilitator. Planning can begin at age 16 to prepare for the move to adult services.
For more information, visit CLBC’s website.
