Each fall, the INCLUSION Art Show & Sale transforms the Roundhouse into a vibrant celebration of creativity. This year’s show will feature over 1,000 incredible artworks from artists across BC — including submissions from more than 40 independent artists. We’re thrilled to shine a light on some of these creators who bring their unique perspectives and styles to the show.
Independent artists are at the heart of what makes the INCLUSION Art Show so special. Working from home studios, community spaces, or even kitchen tables, they explore their imaginations freely and express their lived experiences through art. Each piece tells a story — of growth, discovery, and connection.

Alex Lecce
A self-taught artist from Port Coquitlam, Alex’s creativity shines both in the kitchen and the studio. When he’s not working as a baker’s assistant — where he adds his artistic touch to decorating cookies and other treats — Alex can be found in his home art studio creating clay models, acrylic paintings, wooden sculptures, and pencil sketches. His love of art began in kindergarten, encouraged by his mom, and has continued ever since. In his spare time, he enjoys visiting bookshops and thrift stores for inspiration.

Darren Hewko
Inspired by the beauty of the Canadian landscape, Darren aims to bring a fresh perspective to the classic Canadian style. Deeply influenced by the Group of Seven, his paintings capture the essence of the wilderness while adding a contemporary twist. Fascinated by the interplay of light and shadow, Darren’s landscapes and sunsets radiate warmth and serenity. As an artist with autism, his work serves as a visual language — a way to communicate his inner world and share his love of nature with others.

Nikki Dias
Since Nikki could first hold a pencil, she has been passionate about drawing and painting. Her whimsical cartoon style draws inspiration from beloved artists such as Bill Watterson of Calvin and Hobbes, and Michael Martchenko, illustrator of the Robert Munsch children’s books. Over the years, Nikki has also studied the Manga genre, blending its expressive energy into her own loose and dynamic style. The speed of execution of her character designs gives them a sense of personality and movement. Like the Impressionists of the 19th century, her thoughts are caught in a moment of time, focusing on the momentary subjective experience of a person or object rather than a realistic depiction.

Janek Bajerski
For Janek, photography is both a craft and a calling. His talent was first recognized by a teacher who noticed his keen eye for lighting and composition. Since then, Janek has honed his skills as a dedicated member of the Semiahmoo House Society Shutter Bugs Club, learning under the mentorship of Eve Herny. His portfolio includes weddings, portraits, community events, and feature spreads in the Peace Arch News. Today, Janek is turning his photography into a small business — offering event photo services and selling his prints and photo cards. His work is known for capturing vibrant colours, natural angles, and authentic emotion.
