Vancouver, BC – The INCLUSION Art Show & Sale is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and we invite you to join us in marking this significant milestone by sharing the stories of over 200 artists from various communities across Metro Vancouver and Victoria. As you enter the Roundhouse Exhibition Hall, you’ll feel the positive energy and community spirit that define this show. It’s a truly joyful event and offers a much-needed platform for showcasing disability arts and culture.
You can expect to see a diverse range of artwork, including vibrant paintings, intricate pottery, captivating photography, detailed collages, elegant textiles, and unique jewelry – all expressions of each individual artist’s voice. Jewelry maker, Justin Albay shares how the event has impacted him: “The INCLUSION Art Show gives me a platform to showcase my artistic talents and share my creativity with others. It allows me to express myself in ways that I might not be able to through words. Being part of this event helps me build confidence, connect with other artists, and receive valuable feedback that helps me grow as an artist.”
Artists and staff from PotteryWorks Studio in New Westminster describe the event as “a rewarding and positive experience,” “a unique opportunity for artists,” and “a cultural landmark in Vancouver.”
For two decades, posAbilities has organized this annual Art Show, always held in October to honor Community Inclusion Month in British Columbia. The event not only creates connections within the community but also supports participating artists and social enterprises, with sales often reaching around $20,000.
We aim to make this event accessible for everyone, offering free admission, ASL interpretation, a safe space, sensory kits, and light refreshments. If you need any additional accommodations, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We look forward to welcoming you!
