1. Vancouver Maritime Museum Open House

Location: Vancouver Maritime Museum

Date: March 15, 2025

Embark on a journey of exploration and education at this family-friendly event presented by the Vancouver Maritime Museum. Celebrate maritime heritage with your family and friends! Explore the museum’s fascinating exhibits, participate in nautical-themed crafts, and enjoy storytelling sessions and boat-building demonstrations in partnership with the Oarlock & Sail Wooden Boat Club. This is a great opportunity to experience the museum’s treasures without admission fees!

 

2. Burnaby Village Museum – A Journey Through Time

Location: 6501 Deer Lake Ave, Burnaby
Date: March 16–28, 2025

Step back in time and explore Burnaby’s history at Burnaby Village Museum, a 10-acre open-air museum with free admission during Spring Break. Throughout the break, families can take part in special activities, including Indigenous storytelling sessions, scavenger hunts, heritage games, and hands-on historical exhibits. Kids will love the interactive schoolhouse experience, where they can learn about education in the early 1900s. There’s even a Nowruz-themed scavenger hunt to celebrate Persian New Year!

 

3. Spring Break at Kids Market – Granville Island

Location: 1496 Cartwright St, Vancouver
Date: March 17–28, 2025

Spring Break at Granville Island’s Kids Market is packed with fun, engaging, and kid-friendly entertainment. Running daily from March 17 to 28, families can enjoy a variety of activities such as interactive magic shows, puppet performances, arts and crafts, and live music. Face painting stations and balloon artists will add to the excitement, giving kids a chance to express their creativity.

 

4. Nowruz Fire Festival

Location: Ambleside Park

Date: March 18, 2025

Join thousands in celebrating the Persian New Year’s Eve, Chaharshanbe Suri at this spectacular outdoor festival. Families can enjoy live Persian music and dancing, cultural performances, and food vendors amid a festive atmosphere​. After dusk, participate (or watch) as people symbolically “jump the fires” – small bonfires lit as a tradition that symbolizes good health and luck for the coming year.

 

5. Night Quest – Lantern Lit Trails in the Forest

Location: Pacific Spirit Regional Park

Date: March 21-22, 2025

Experience the magic of the forest at night on a family-friendly lantern-lit walk. Night Quest is a beloved annual event where park trails are decorated with glowing animal lanterns, and “friendly forest creatures” along the path share nature tales and fun facts. Admission is free and all ages are welcome​ but advance registration is required to reserve an entry time. And don’t forget to dress for weather!
