This year marked the 20th anniversary of the posAbilities’ INCLUSION Art Show. Held at its new venue—the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre—the event welcomed thousands of attendees who came to experience the extraordinary talents of over 200 artists with diverse abilities. It was a vibrant celebration of social inclusion and diversity!

A Day of Creativity and Connection

The day began with warm opening remarks from Monique Nelson (Director of Community Engagement at posAbilities), who set the tone for a welcoming and inclusive event. She acknowledged the unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations, reminding us of the deep connections between community and place.

Indigenous artist and 60s Scoop Survivor, Sandra Pronteau, followed with a heartfelt blessing, honouring the courage and creativity of all participants and celebrating the importance of gathering to share art and stories.
