As we gear up for this year’s INCLUSION Art Show, we’re excited to introduce a few of the artists and studios that will be showcasing their latest work. These studios foster creativity, collaboration, and empowerment for artists with diverse abilities, and we’re thrilled to have them participating in BC’s largest inclusion art show. Here’s a look at some of the featured studios and programs joining us this year:
Alternatives Studio and Gallery Based in East Vancouver, this vibrant collective has been empowering artists with developmental disabilities since 2013. The studio supports artists in exploring both figurative and abstract works, fostering an inclusive community through art. Aspire Richmond
Aspire Richmond offers a range of services that support individuals from infancy through adulthood. From early intervention programs to housing and employment support, Aspire Richmond helps individuals with disabilities and their families lead thriving, connected lives. Roots Day Program, posAbilities Focused on community integration, Roots Day Program provides social, recreational, and volunteer opportunities that bring joy and brighten the lives of participants and community members.. PALS Adult Services Society (PASS) PASS provides innovative daily programs for autistic and neurodiverse adults, helping them live vibrant, meaningful lives. With a focus on community participation, employment, and lifelong learning, PASS ensures their members are supported as they transition into adulthood, offering the resources needed to pursue their unique goals and aspirations. |
Here and Now Community Society Here and Now is a society dedicated to creating an inclusive community where people with disabilities can live a good life Through their self-funded Art Studio, participants are given the opportunity to enhance their artistic skills and share their creations with the community. Vicuña Art Studio
Established in 2008, Vicuna supports artists with developmental disabilities in their journey to becoming “true students of art.” The studio provides access to professional instruction, high-quality materials, and opportunities to showcase and sell their work. With a focus on artistic growth and creativity, Vicuña empowers artists to explore their talents and share their unique perspectives with the community. PotteryWorks
PotteryWorks is a vibrant multi-media art studio that supports artists with disabilities. Through a wide range of artistic mediums, including pottery, painting, and jewelry, the studio empowers artists to explore their creativity and develop their skills. PotteryWorks not only provides a platform for artists to express themselves but also promotes community inclusion by showcasing their work in local galleries and events. JCC Art Hive provides opportunities for all ages and skill levels to explore a variety of art forms through both guided activities and self-directed art making. It’s a welcoming space where individuals can discover their inner artist, create freely, and connect with others. Aegis West, posAbilities
Aegis West offers a variety of daily activities focused on social engagement, recreation, and skill development. Their initiatives include teaching Sign Language to elementary school students, hosting community events, and creating art pieces at PotteryWorks studio. Studio Seventy Three is home to talented glass artists creating stunning glassware, decorative pieces, and wearable art. With training in molding and fusing techniques, these artists bring their unique designs to life, exhibiting their work at art shows and galleries throughout the Lower Mainland. |
Developmental Disabilities Association (DDA) DDA is a community living agency that offers over 50 community-based programs and services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. DDA creates extended networks of care and invests in the unique needs of every person. Their mission is to build an inclusive, safe community where everyone can thrive.
